One beamline may concern several panels.

Operation of review panels
Scientific peer review panel members serve for a fixed period of 2,5 years. If there is no express to leave, the mandate is renewed by tacit agreement with an additional 2,5 years. The term comes to an end after a maximum of 5 years. A member of the SOLEIL Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) can serve in a review panels.
Each review panel comprises a sufficiently large number of members to cover the main sub-areas of its discipline.
In most cases, about 9-11 members per committee are appointed. Face to face Meeting takes place twice a year, in the second half of April and in the second half of November.
After each panel meeting, the chairman produces a report for the SOLEIL management and for the SAC.
This report :
comments on the quality and scope of the proposals received,
points out any areas of concern,
recommends any potential improvements to either the beamlines covered by the panel or the allocation process.
