Marie Labat, member of the Sources division at the synchrotron facility SOLEIL, received on October 5th, 2015 the Jean-Louis Laclare prize of the Accelerator Division of the French Physicist Society.
This recognition rewards the physicist for her work within the accelerators community, in particular on the femto-slicing project at SOLEIL. The award has also been given to Walid Kaabi from the Laboratory of the Linear Accelerator (Orsay).
Since its creation in 1998, this is the fourth time that the Jean-Louis Laclare prize is awarded to a member of SOLEIL. Marie Labat is the second woman to receive this distinction after Marie-Emmauelle Couprie, also a member of the Sources division at SOLEIL.
The Jean-Louis Laclare prize is given every two years during the Accelerators Days of the French Physicist Society. It aims to reward a physicist who he/she is less than 40 years old for his/her work in physic or in accelerators’ technology.
