Lycée
SOLEIL is open to visitors from Tuesday to Thursday, except during school vacations (zone C - France), subject to availability.
Program
Duration: 1h30-2h
- Meeting point in front of the reception building
- Presentation in the room, in connection with the educational project, on the functioning and applications of the SOLEIL synchrotron (due to the health situation, this presentation cannot take place and is replaced by an introduction on our posters or our tactile tables)
- Tour of the synchrotron to discover the different facilities (experimental hall, control room) as well as the educational workshops (UV, electrons...) (due to the health situation, most of these workshops are not accessible for the moment)
To prepare your visit
Before the visit of each class, we ask the teachers to prepare it by introducing the visit to the students. On our website, you can find explanatory videos as well as educational resources on the synchrotron in general, on light-matter interactions, on synchrotron radiation and on waves in everyday life. Each class will be asked to have prepared 5 questions to start the visit.
We ask you to be particularly careful about the size of your group: any person exceeding the maximum group size (10, 20, 30 or 40 depending on the time slot), whether a student or an accompanying person, will be refused entry to the site.
Please also note that the next few slots (Wednesday, March 16 at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 20 at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 21 at 9:30 am) are reserved for requests between 1 and 7 people. We thank you for respecting this organization and for not registering on these slots with your class.
