Nano-Saclay – Paris-Saclay multidisciplinary Nano-Lab

LABEX NanoSaclay

Nanoscience; Nanotechnology; Nanoelectronics; Nanophotonics; Nanomagnetism & spintronics; Nanomedicine & nanobiology; Nanochemistry

Start date: 2011 – End date: 2024

The LabEx NanoSaclay unifies 450 scientists (physicists, chemists and biologists) in a world-size cluster focused on interdisciplinarity and reactivity, able to address key fundamental, economic and societal issues. For the first fourth years, the scientific dynamism was organized around three ‘flagship projects': (i) Quantum and spin-based nanoelectronics, (ii) Nano-drugs for the treatment of severe diseases and (iii) NanoPhotonics, nano-objects for energy control.

The ‘LabEx NanoSaclay’ has been selected in 2011 under the French program “Investments for the Future”. SOLEIL participates in this project.

NANOIMAGESX – Construction and operation of a nanotomography line at the SOLEIL synchrotron

Construction et exploitation d'une ligne de nanotomographie au synchrotron SOLEIL | ANR

Microtomography; Nanotomography; X-ray; Synchrotron; Beamline

Start date: 2012 – End date: 2019

NANOIMAGESX, selected for funding in the 2nd call for proposals of the EQUIPEX (Équipements d’excellence, Equipment of excellence) program of the French government, is a project that has allowed Synchrotron SOLEIL, seconded by 16 partners from public research and industry, to design, build and put into operation a beamline dedicated to micro- and nanotomography and full-field microscopy of matter in native conditions. By supplying intense, highly coherent X ray beams in the photon energy range from 5 to 50 keV, this beamline, named ANATOMIX (Advanced Nano-Tomography and Imaging with Coherent X Rays), is unique in respect of sensitivity and resolution.

PALM – Physics: Atoms, Light, Matter

Labex Palm - Labex-Palm

Condensed matter physics; Atomic and molecular physics; Optics; Lasers; Extreme light; Statistical physics; Chemistry-physics

Start date: 2011 – End date: 2024

PALM is a laboratory of excellence (LabEx) in the scientific community of the Paris-Saclay Campus, created and supported by the Fondation de coopération scientifique of Campus Paris-Saclay. The scientific contour of PALM encompasses the physics of condensed matter, atomic and molecular physics, optics, lasers and “extreme” light, statistical physics, and physical chemistry.

The ‘LabEx PALM’ has been selected in 2011 under the French program “Investments for the Future”. PALM gathers a research community of about 700 scientists on the Paris-Saclay campus from 31 institutes belonging to 12 research / academic entities. SOLEIL is one of the research entities participating in the project.

RESPORE – Science of porous solids

Science des solides poreux (RESPORE)

ROCK – Fast EXAFS Spectrometer for Chemical Kinetics

Spectromètre EXAFS Rapide pour Cinétiques Chimiques | ANR

Quick-EXAFS; Operando; Catalysis; Renewable energy; Temporal resolution; Spatial resolution Synchrotron; Beamline

Start date: 2011 – End date: 2019

The purpose of this EQUIPEX project was to build within the existing SOLEIL synchrotron facility and to operate for the benefit of academic and private research projects a time-resolved X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) beamline, named ROCK, based on the quick-scanning energy principle, the so called QuEXAFS.

SIRTEQ – Science and Engineering for Quantum Technologies

Sciences et ingénierie pour les technologies quantiques (SIRTEQ)
