We are pleased to announce a European workshop dedicated to exploring one-dimensional quantum systems, bringing together theorists and experimentalists.
Since the discovery of the Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid in the early 1980s, low-dimensional materials have provided a rich testing ground for theoretical predictions. In recent years, the field has seen exciting progress across multiple fronts. Notably, there have been significant advances in the theory of 1D systems beyond the traditional linear-dispersion paradigm—often in connection with cold atom quantum simulators—as well as in time-resolved pump-probe experiments and the synthesis of novel low-dimensional materials, including those based on Moiré patterns.
This workshop aims to foster dialogue across these and other emerging areas, offering a platform for sharing insights, building collaborations, and identifying the key challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
