Mini-Workshop on Round Beams

From June 14 to June 15, 2017 SYNCHROTRON SOLEIL

This workshop shall take place on 14th and 15th of June 2017 at Synchrotron SOLEIL, France.

In the framework of an ongoing collaboration between SOLEIL and MAX-IV laboratories, an 18-month work was dedicated to studying the properties of the photon beam emitted by a round electron beam, as well as its propagation through a realistic beam line.

To complete this project, we organize a mini-workshop at SOLEIL in order to share and discuss the obtained results with experts of other laboratories. The main topics of this meeting shall be:

  • Benefit of using small and round photon beams at the sample.
  • Horizontal emittance manipulations to produce small and round electron beams.
  • Optimized beamline for coherent small and round photon beams.

This workshop is an opportunity to gather, for fruitful exchanges of ideas and information, photon beamline scientists, accelerator physicists and experts in photon beamline optics and synchrotron radiation.

The program of the workshop, distributed over three half days, is approved by the scientific committee whose members are :

  • R. Brinkmann (DESY), A. Chao (SLAC), O. Chubar (BNL), C. Quitmann (MAX IV), P. Raimondi (ESRF),
  • For SOLEIL: P. Brunelle, N. Jaouen, A. Nadji, R. Nagaoka, F. Polack, W. Shepard.

This mini-workshop is based on invitations. Though there is no registration fee, costs of accommodation and travel of participants are to be covered by their home institute.

On behalf of the local "Round Beam" team,
