02 au 06 novembre 2026 Synchrotron SOLEIL

The 10th edition of the ‘Crystallography and Large Scale Facilities’ school will take place at the SOLEIL synchrotron site in Saint-Aubin from 2 to 6 November 2026.

The main objectives of this thematic school are to enable participants to reconnect with the fundamentals of crystallography: acquiring the theoretical foundations of crystallography and its methods, and using software for the determination and refinement of crystal structures. All disciplinary fields utilising crystallography are covered. It provides a state-of-the-art overview of the possibilities offered by various experimental methods and, in particular, at large scale facilities (i.e. synchrotron, neutron and XFEL sources).

At Master’s level, it is aimed at PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, engineers, lecturer-researchers and researchers, as well as current or potential users of major research facilities.

This five-day course comprises lectures, tutorials and practical sessions. It enables participants to quickly engage with applications and to link the training directly to their research work. The course also fosters close interaction with lecturers from major French laboratories specialising in crystallography and experts in their fields, and facilitates exchanges with participants from various disciplines.

The course, accommodation and meals will be provided at the SOLEIL synchrotron site. The language of instruction is English and places are limited to 27.
