Project Management Assistant SOLEIL User Office

SOLEIL is the French national synchrotron facility, located on the Saclay Plateau near Paris. It is a multi-disciplinary instrument and research laboratory whose mission is to conduct research using synchrotron radiation, to develop cutting edge instrumentation on the beamlines, and to make these developments available to the scientific community. SOLEIL synchrotron, a unique tool for both academic research and industrial applications across a wide range of disciplines including physics, biology, chemistry etc., opened in 2008. It is used annually by thousands researchers from France and abroad. SOLEIL is based on a synchrotron source that is state-of-the-art both in terms of brilliance and stability. This large scale facility, a partner of the Université Paris Saclay, is a “publically owned” private company, founded by the CNRS and the CEA.

This position is in the SOLEIL Library and User Office group, within the Experiences Division, as part of a temporary increase in activity.

The Library and Users' Office group has 3 activities:

- Management of the Library: subscriptions, collection of publications and edition of scientific events abstracts booklets organized by the group,

- Management of scientific events,

- Users' Office.

 

I.MISSION

The Library and User Office group is upgrading its user and project management software, the SUN set. As this project is impacting the group's workload, we are looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for supporting the project management assistance activity in the context of validated SUN set subjects, under the supervision of the group leader.

 

II.RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

1.Identification and definition of requirements:

  • Analysis of expressions of need,
  • Definition and framing of needs,
  • Formalization of requirements.

2.Writing functional specifications

  • Definition of use cases,
  • Drafting of general and detailed functional specifications.

3.Running a Workshop:

  • Conduct meetings,
  • Drafting of meeting minutes,
  • Validation of documents.

4.Steering:

  • Prioritization and planning of activities,
  • Progress reporting,
  • Interface between BBUS and ISG groups.

5.Support of launch into production :

  • Tests execution to validate the production launch,
  • Coordination of communication activities (SUN set, etc.),
  • Supervision of the drafting instructions for use or video tutorials for different user profiles.

 

III.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This job is for someone with a 5-year degree in Project Management, combined with at least 5 years' professional experience in a similar position.

IV.GENERAL CONDITIONS

This offer corresponds to a 12-month fixed-term contract under French law, with a possible 6-month extension.

The salary will be based on the general salary grid for SOLEIL and determined based on qualifications and work experience.
