The scientific research carried out at SOLEIL requires advanced technological developments to design, validate, build and use all the devices, equipment and software needed to operate SOLEIL.

These high-performance, reliable devices are designed or validated by SOLEIL using cutting-edge technologies. They are generally the result of ambitious technological R&D projects, defined according to the needs expressed by the communities using the synchrotron facilities, and usually carried out in collaboration with partners from industry and other major research facilities.

In this context, SOLEIL is involved with scientific instrumentation companies in a number of ways:

  • technological and training services
  • supply of innovative devices for experimental use
  • technological R&D partnerships
  • knowledge transfer (know-how, patents, software).
