Perspectives of Synchrotron Facilities in Japan & Intermolecular Soft X-ray Spectroscopy

This presentation will be split in 2 different talks :

1- Talk on history, recent status, and future prospects of synchrotron radiation facilities in Japan, which currently consists of 9 facilities with 10 rings (KEK-PF, PF-AR, IMS-UVSOR, HiSOR, Rits-SR, SPring-8, New SUBARU, SAG-LS, AichiSR, and NanoTerasu) and 1 XFEL facility (SACLA).

2- Talk on some examples of recent advances in soft X-ray spectroscopy in molecular science expanding research targets from ideal isolated molecules and molecular solids to heterogeneous systems, where it is important to clarify intermolecular interactions.
