Graphene ribbons that are highly conductive at room temperature

Graphene ribbons in which the electrons move freely: that is the feat accomplished by an international team of research scientists from the CNRS, the University of Lorraine, and the SOLEIL synchrotron in France, the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the USA, and the University of Leibniz in Germany. After developing a new and original way to synthesize these ribbons, the scientists revealed their exceptional electrical conductivity at ambient temperature. These nanoribbons open up promising prospects for high-tech electronics. This work is due to be published on 5th February 2014 on the website of the journal Nature.
