Julie's PhD thesis - episode 3 - the MONARIS Laboratory

We keep following Julie Gordon, a PhD student at the MONARIS laboratory and at the SOLEIL synchrotron, in the various places where she is led by her research work on the alteration of painted metal objects.

Julie guides us within the MONARIS laboratory on the Campus Pierre and Marie Curie of Sorbonne Université in Paris, one of the two structures hosting her for her doctorate. She carries out at MONARIS Laboratory some of the analyzes on the samples that were previously taken from objects kept at the Musée des Arts et Métiers and in the storage facility of this Museum (episode 1 and episode 2). Julie and the scientists she works with show us the approaches used to try to understand the mechanisms behind the alteration of these objects, in order to better preserve them.
