Poste de post-doctorant sur la ligne SWING

SOLEIL is the French synchrotron radiation facility, located on the Saclay plateau near Paris. A unique tool for academic research and industrial applications, SOLEIL is used annually by several thousand French and international researchers. This Very Large Research Infrastructure (TGIR), a partner of the University of Paris-Saclay and open to international collaboration, is organized as a civil company whose shareholders are the CNRS and the CEA.

 

Context and Missions

The postdoctoral researcher will work on the SWING beamline under the supervision of Thomas Bizien. He/she will participate in the ANR CODENAME project and will be responsible for the following tasks:

Setting up a microfluidic device and an acoustic levitation system on the beamline to enable the study of metasurface assembly.

Developing an optical setup to monitor evaporation and phase transitions during SAXS measurements.

Participating in all SAXS measurement campaigns and contributing to SAXS data analysis in close collaboration with the PhD student from LPS (Orsay).

Contributing to the beamline’s activities through various scientific and technical meetings and by utilizing the beamline.

Profile (degree, experience, skills, and personal qualities)

The candidate must hold a PhD or an equivalent degree in chemistry, physics, materials chemistry, soft matter, or a related field, and have experience in SAXS and coding (preferably in Python). Experience in optical setup design will be considered a significant advantage.

This position is available as a permanent contract or a fixed-term contract for a duration of XX months. The workplace is in Saint-Aubin.
