We have the pleasure of inviting you to Synchrotron SOLEIL and Sorbonne University (Paris) to join the Science at FELs conference, on June 17-19, 2024 and the Forum on Advanced FEL Techniques immediately after, June 20-21, 2024. After the previous successful meeting in Hamburg and the exciting new developments and results from these extraordinary light sources, we are looking forward to a fascinating and informative conference. The meeting will include the hottest new results, of course, but also tutorials on the operation and uses of FEL radiation along with possible tours of relevant accelerator and laser-based sources in the Paris-Saclay area.
The one and a half day “Forum on Advanced FEL Techniques”, aiming to bring together FEL experts and FEL users, will take place right after the main conference, from 20-21 June 2024.
The 2024 Olympic Games will take place in Paris between the end of July and mid-August 2024. To make sure you get accommodation at the best rate make your booking early.

The prize is awarded in recognition of recent work for scientific excellence in the area of free electron laser science and applications in its broadest sense by a young scientist (below 35 years at the ceremony date).
The work for which the individual is nominated must be such that a significant component of it was performed during the period 3 years prior to the award. The award is accompanied by a certificate, and a monetary sum of 1000 euros.
Please send a cover letter provided by the nominator with proposed citation, the nominee CV(s), a list of publications and up to three letters of endorsement of the nomination to m.helm@hzdr.de

The Campus Jussieu is located in the 5th arrondissement, the oldest in the city of Paris. Located on the left bank of Paris, it covers most of the magnificent Latin Quarter. Many public institutions reside in this district: 'Ecole Normale Supérieure' (ENS), National School of Chemistry of Paris (ENSCP), the Currie Institute, the Ministry of Research or Sorbonne University which includes the Campus Pierre and Marie Curie. The 5th arrondissement is also full of monuments such as the Pantheon, La Sorbonne and famous gardens like the 'Jardin des Plantes de Paris'.
