The SOLEIL synchrotron, inaugurated on December 18th, 2006, brings together the whole French and international scientific communities around its high-technology infrastuctures. After 5 years of construction and development, the facility is open since 2008 to researchers in various disciplines, who use the highest-performing techniques to study matter, its geometry, its chemical, magnetic, and electric properties.
SOLEIL : a non-profit civil company
SOLEIL is managed as a French non-profit civil company. The members of the SOLEIL Synchrotron company are the CNRS and the CEA.
