Researchers and engineers from the industrial world are always surprised when they see a list of the products and subjects analyzed by their colleagues. In truth, industrial and applied activity represents more than one quarter of the beamline’s use. All the life phases of a product are involved: R&D, manufacturing and control, and aging and recycling.
Both a Very Important Instrument serving the entire scientific community and a research laboratory developing its own themes, SOLEIL is an exceptional source of light for the exploration of living or inert matter over a very wide spectral range (1ev/80 kev).
At SOLEIL, you can study the aging of chocolate, the baking of bread, the stability of food mousses, the effect of cosmetics, control of plastic bottles, control of microelectronic devices, constraints on turbine paddles; even the treatment of pollutants or the development of new medications.
This equipment includes beamlines and preparation and instrumentation support laboratories. Accessible to novices and experienced users, adaptable and scalable, SOLEIL’s beamlines are there for analysis, characterization, and control of materials.
