on Tuesday 15th (afternoon) & Wednesday 16th January, 2008
SOLEIL Auditorium
L'Orme des Merisiers, Saint Aubin (France)

Context et objectives
The purpose of this workshop (which is associated to the 3rd SOLEIL Users' Meeting) is to present SOLEIL's upcoming micro-spectroscopy and imaging capabilities.
These will be highlighted by invited speakers presenting their respective scientific fields and the latest advances in related synchrotron radiation based techniques. Topics will range from Biology to Magnetism, Materials, Cultural Heritage and more.

The workshop will conclude with round table discussions to identify  the needs of the various communities. In particular, whether there is a need for a combination of different synchrotron radiation based microscopy techniques, whether there is more generally an interest in sample portability between different end stations, and whether complementary tecnhiques should be accessible at SOLEIL.

A poster session will be held to facilitate discussions between participants during the workshop.
