SOLEIL gives preference to applications and developments which can be used via a web-type interface, as it is easier to deploy and update the software. In cases where this is not possible, software is made available to users via applications published by Citrix to simplify installation and maintenance tasks.
Most of the applications use Oracle 10g and 11g databases since the inner skills were built around Oracle. Some databases are in the form of RAC clusters to provide enhanced reliability.
