Computing and controls systems on each experimental BeamLine are divided into two sub-systems:

  • the Line Experiment System, so-called SEL, is managed by the Systems and Networks Group : it covers local storage, processing stations and workstations for external users, connected to a public sub-network, so-called REL, with access to the internet ;
  • the BeamLine Control System, so-called SCL, is managed by the Control and Data Acquisition SW and HW groups : it is dedicated to the BeamLine’s control and data acquisition equipment, connected to a private sub-network, so-called RCL.
    Each SCL Line Control System is constructed using the same hardware and software architecture and the same standards as those used for the Machine Control System.
