WORKSHOP's PHOTOS

SCOPE of the WORKSHOP

IWP2000, scheduled for October 2000 in Carry le Rouet (close to Marseille, France), will be the fifth in a series begun in 1990 (St Petersburg) , the last one held in Chester July 97. The aim of this workshop is to organize a meeting point for researchers in the area of atomic and molecular photoionisation. Its small scale format (120 participants) has been retained in order to favor exchanges and informal discussions between scientists. The location in the small village of Carry le Rouet has been chosen to emphasize its intimate and convivial character

The scientific program will be based on a series of invited presentations (28), 3 round tables and two poster sessions. Topics to be discussed during the workshop are the following :

Dichroism and Alignment

High resolution spectroscopy

Resonant and non resonant core ionization

Multiple ionization

 

Photoionization of large systems

Beyond the dipole approximation

Recent Progress in instrumentation

 

LOCATION and ACCOMMODATION

The workshop will be held in the Hotel "Vacanciel La Calanque" at Carry-le-Rouet, a small village of the "Côte Bleue", approximately 25 km west of Marseille on the Mediterranean Sea.

It is easily accessible from the main railway station Saint-Charles in downtown Marseille, by taxi from Marignane airport, or by our special shuttle service on request. Lodging and meals will be available for all accompanying persons at the workshop site at a reduced cost. They should be registered in advance.

 

TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS

 

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Limited funds will be available for partial financial support for students, young scientists, when insufficient financial support is available from their institutions. Requests for financial support should be sent to the Organising Committee before August 1st, if not already done. Available grants will cover registration fee (full accommodation) and eventually part of travel expenses.
