 | A team of AILES users, the SOLEIL infrared spectroscopy beamline, has obtained, in the beginning of July, spectra of pure rotation of the Methyl-formate ( HCOOCH3), at frequencies lower than 1 THz (<30 cm-1). This first spectrum was observed in the 0.6 - 6 THz region, with the high resolution spectrometer IRTF of the AILES beamline coupled with a white cell. It shows the remarkable performances of the beamline in this hard to reach part of the electromagnetic spectrum.
These experiments were carried out within the framework of the research program ANR "TopModel", by a couple team coming from the PhLAM laboratory , UMR CNRS-université Lille 1 (Pr. Thérèse HUET) and from the AILES beamline (Dr. Olivier PIRALI, AILES et LPPM, UPR CNRS, université Paris 11). They study the spectroscopic signature of complex molecules of astrophysical and pre-biotic interest, in the framework of the new spatial missions Alma and Hershel. |
