Travel and Subsistence
Before organizing your trip you have to confirm the participants in the SUN set, as early as possible and at least 3 weeks before the experiment is due to begin.

Users receiving a contribution of their expenses, are invited to contact  SOLEIL travel Office which will provide them travel and accommodation at SOLEIL Guest House (according availablility). Otherwise users will be accommodated in hotels booked by SOLEIL Travel Office.
  
From the SUN set users will be able soon to connect themselves to a software which allow them to organise their trip on line, which must be committed at least 3 weeks in advance also.
      
Users who are not receiving a support from SOLEIL are invited to organise themselves travel and accommodation bookings.
  
  
Travel

The reimbursement of user travel expenses is made on the basis of the economic air fare ticket, as follows:
   
TRAIN
** For users whose laboratory or institute is located in France, the reimbursement is done on the basis of the second class train fare. The airfare ticket could be reimbursed only if it is more economical than the train.

PLANE
** An airfare transport is accepted only if it is more economical than the train.

PRIVATE CAR
** Exceptionnaly the private car could be reimbursed only in two cases:  car-pooling or samples and ancillary equipement transportation. A request should be addressed to SOLEIL User office previously to the departure. 
 

Accommodation
Since January 23rd of 2008, opening date of SOLEIL Guest House which is available 24 hours a day, users can be accommodated. The Guest House is located next to the Synchrotron building and next to the canteen (see map).
There are 80 comfortable single rooms with two of them devoted to people of reduced mobility.
  • Users supported by SOLEIL are prioritary accommodated. Bookings have to be done at the Travel Office, when you organise travel and subsistence. 
     
  • Users not supported by SOLEIL may be accommodated in the Guest House according availablility. They have to contact directly the Guest House Manager in order to book a room:

NB : For the opening period, accommodation in the Guest House is supported by SOLEIL.

    

Catering
 
The canteen is opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner as follows:

You can take your meals with the badge received at the entrance and which the Main Proposer has to request previously through the SUN set ("Apply for access" function).
  
Users receiving a subsidy by SOLEIL will have a ‘pre-charged’ badge depending on the duration of the stay. During the experiment, if meals are not taken at SOLEIL, they are not reimbursed.
   
Users not being reimbursed by SOLEIL will have to charge the badge at the canteen machine (by credit card) or by cash or cheque directly at the canteen cash desk.
 
Visa application
   
Non European Community members have to check if visa formalities should be completed.
We recommend to you to make VISA requirements well in advance.

We remind you that you have to apply for a visa at least one month before your expected arrival at SOLEIL.
