1979-1986 Higher education at the University of Modena (Italy).

1985- July 1986, Tesi di Laurea in Fisica: ''Detection of Thermally stimulated Luminescence (TSL) et Current (TSC) in Anthracene single crystals'' Tutor: Prof. T. Garofano.
110/110 con Lode (cum laude).
September 1986 - January 1990: researcher at the Physics Department of the University of Modena, with a research fellowship of ''Industrie Zanussi''.
February 1990-August 1991 : Post doctoral fellowship of the ''Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche'' Italian (CNR) to work in France at the Laboratoire pour l'Utilisation du Rayonnement Electromagnétique (LURE.) in Orsay:
- September 1991 - December 1991: Associated researcher (poste rouge) au Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS).
- January 1992 - December 1993: Post Doctoral Contract of the Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule (ETH) in Zürich (Switzerland) to develop surface magnetometry with synchrotron radiation.
- January 1994 - September 1995: Associated Researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (Large Instruments Contract of the European Community)
since 1 October 1995: Chargé de Recherche de 1ére Classe at CNRS Sec. 6, Laboratoire pour l’Utilisation du Rayonnement Synchrotron (UMR 130)

- 1993 - 1998: Responsible of the SU7 beamline at SuperAco and of the XPS (ABS6) experiment at LURE Laboratory.

- January 1996 - 1998: Project leader for the construction of a High Energy High Resolution new beamline at SuperAco.
The first resolution tests of the beamline were successfully performed in mars 1998 and the beamline is opened to the LURE program committee since 1999.

- Since 1998: Responsible of the new SB7 beamline at SuperACO.

- 1998 - 1999: Responsible of the installation at SuperACO of an electron energy analyzer with high resolving power Scienta SES 2002 on the XPS experimental station.

- November 2000 : Habilitation to direct research activities.

- 2001 : responsible of the operation : « Complement to the experimental station XPS-Scienta-Mott, High resolution Photoelectrons Spectroscopy in LURE Laboratory.

- 2001 - 2005 : LURE representative in the European Network (EUFELE HPRI – CT – 2001 50025)
- Since December 2002 : Responsible for the transfer of the SB7 beamline to the new Soleil synchrotron radiation source with the TEMPO project.
- Since July 2004 - UR1 Soleil


Knowledge of Languages:
Mother tongue Italian, write and speak currently in English and French. German spoken



Main research subjects:

Magnetic properties of surfaces and interfaces studied with magnetic dichroism in photoabsorption and photoelectron spectroscopy.
Time resolved surface magnetometry at the nanosecond time scale.
Reactivity of molecules on semiconductors surfaces. (in collaboration)
