The Samples

The samples can be quickly introduced in UHV thanks to a load-lock mounted on the crossway chamber.

Inside the crossway, samples are stored on a carousel which can contain up to 16 samples.

Samples are mounted on Omicron-type plates. They can be very simple, or with a special thickness, in order to have the sample holder rotation axis in the plane of the sample surface (for angle-resolved measurements). In this case, the total thickness (plate + sample) must be 5 mm. We also have special plates for direct current heating.
