The platform commences operations, IPANEMA will also provide support for guest scientists conducting research over periods of several years. This longer time frame is often more appropriate to corpus studies and research on collections of ancient materials. The support provided will range from training in analytical methods and their implementation, adaptation or redesign for specific purposes, to data processing and analysis up through the valorisation of results. Access modes will be adapted accordingly.
Internal staff will simultaneously develop their own methodological research in instrumentation and data analysis, motivated by the specific needs of ancient materials research.
IPANEMA will thus participate in onsite training while optimising beam time demand at SOLEIL. It will thus facilitate interaction between specialists in relevant methods and disciplines at European level.
